I started my music career playing doghouse bass with my Dad, Mom, brothers and sister in the Justice family band. I was so short and the bass was so tall that I had to lean it over on its side to reach the cords so I could play. We were an all Gospel band that played in churches, benefits, revivals, tent meetings and brush arbor meetings. Dad played the guitar while my mom sang, my brother played the banjo , I played the doghouse and my other brothers and sister sang.

In high school I was in a bluegrass band and later played in a Rock ‘n Roll band and a couple of country bands where I played guitar. I’ve always been drawn back to my Gospel and Bluegrass roots where I sing, play the guitar, bass, doghouse and some mandolin. I have had the privilege to play with my band called “THE OLD TIME GOSPEL BOYS” for about fourteen years now. The band has five members that three of the five are founding members! My dad is still playing with me and now my son is playing banjo with us. We have one CD and are working on a new CD project now.

I now live in Walhalla and work in the Mechanical Engineering Department for Clemson University. I have had the privilege to play with some great musicians and great friends on several projects over the years. The good times, great friends, musicians and singers I have played with have been a huge asset and privilege in my life. I would like to give you a special invitation to join us on Friday nights at the Silver Dollar in Long Creek, South Carolina . Come play, sing or just listen in a good clean family atmosphere. Me and our extended Bluegrass family will be looking for you there !!
